I don’t know! But, I am trying hard to find out. Lots of time on my hands and I thought, I might as well use it to enjoy the last few days of my complete and total freedom.
Within 2 days, I watched
- Dr.Strangelove or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb
- Peter and Vandy
- 400 Blows
- Julie and Julia and
- Raavan (Hindi)
- V for Vendetta (Again!!)
I did not pick these movies for any particular reason. But, I really enjoyed watching them. The reason I did not get bored was that all these movies were very different. The only common thing about them is that they all are pretty awesome.
Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here! This is the War Room. President Merkin Muffley
This is from Dr.Strangelove.If I hadn’t watched this movie, I wouldn’t have thought it possible to be very funny and very serious, both at the same time. Peter and Vandy is an example of how a simple story can be made into a powerful movie. I really liked the music towards the end of the movie.
Julie and Julia and Raavan were also very good. Today, I went and saw Raavanan(Tamil) as well. Ashley mentioned that the movie(Raavan) was a flop in North India. I sometimes wonder why good movies never click in the North. I can watch an ordinary Hindi movie only when I am drunk. The same thing happened to Guru. I think movies that have a story are doomed to fail. No wonder India( as represented by Bollywood) has a reputation for producing trashy movies.
